To keep the burgers lower calorie 5% fat mince is used, however you can use any that you like. I like to use streaky bacon for my burgers for added flavour however it is higher in fat. You can sub for bacon medallions, but keep to smoked bacon to keep the 'baconnaise' flavour. Bacon bits; you can find these near the salad toppers and sauces in supermarkets. Although mayonnaise works best for this recipe, you can sub for fat free Greek yoghurt. Processed cheese slices - you either love them or hate them. For me on burgers, I love them but if you don't just sub for reduced fat cheddar. Depending on the meals for my day, I will have burgers with a large crispy salad or sometimes add a handful of fries on the side.

Had this last night for dinner. So good and easy to make. Tastes better than a McDonald’s bacon burger, will definitely be making again

10/10, Alex you’ve outdone yourself again burger queen!! We couldn’t find bacon bits so crispy onions were our substitute and it was perfect!
