Fish sauce - I do love to add this for extra flavour, but if you must you can leave it out

Jasmine rice - adds to the fragrant flavours. If you don't like to use boil in the bag, swap for the same amount in a usual packet.

Rather than rice you can serve this with noodles instead

I usually like the thai crackers you can buy from supermarkets to go with this to add extra spice.
