Notes

If you have a little extra time, you can sear the beef in a hot frying pan before adding it to the slow cooker for a deeper, richer flavour. The recipe still works brilliantly without this step.

If you don't want to make homemade tortilla chips, use a small handful of shop-bought tortilla chips instead.

Chicken thigh or beef brisket can be used instead of diced beef, although cooking times may vary.
