If you don't want to use Gruyère Cheese, you can swap for any type of swiss cheese that has a nutty flavour preferably, if not you can use mozzarella. You can deglaze the pan if needed with balsamic vinegar I find this recipe perfect with mashed potatoes, but you can serve it with crispy potatoes if you prefer.
