Searing the chicken first adds extra flavour, crisp, colour, and helps the pieces hold their shape, but it isn’t essential. If you’re short on time, you can skip this step and add the coated chicken straight to the slow cooker, the sauce will still turn out sticky, sweet, and delicious.

Tastes really nice but sticky. Next time I wouldn’t add the water to the slow cooker. Had to add corn flour to thicken it up

The only reason this is getting a 4 star rating is because the sauce when made in slow cooker doesn’t go sticky, not with the lid on anyways! I had to add more cornflour and then leave lid off. Maybe next time I wouldn’t add the water! The taste however was incredible!!! Would have again but either without the water or on the hob!

Thanks for flagging, Rachael. Sounds like the lid kept too much liquid in - leaving it off at the end was a great call for thickening. Trying with less water or switching to the hob method can also help. I'm really glad you enjoyed the taste and would love to see you give it another try!

Sorry to say but wasn't my favourite on the site but it was still nice I had buttersquash with it and microwave rice packet as it helps me to portion control better. I seem to lose control of portions when cooking normal rice hehe 🤣 didn't have e much sauce as I did make it too spicy

Hi Tiffany, I'm glad you found a way to enjoy it with the butternut squash and microwave rice! If it came out a bit spicy and low on sauce, try reducing the sriracha slightly and add a little splash of water to keep the sauce balanced. I'd love for you to give it another shot and let me know how it goes! 🌟

Trying on the hob next time as it's delicious but the slow cooker made the sauce very runny!

You can leave the lid off the slow cooker for the same job!

Only rating this lower compared to other recipes I’ve tried but think I messed up a little bit in the slow cooker 🤔 so gonna re try on the hob!

Unreal! Made for meal prep (made on the hob as was pushed for time but will try in the slow cooker next time to compare)! (Even my crazy doggo in the background thought it smelt great)

Don’t look as good cause I’ve had to have mine later due to work but still taste really nice. I added an egg in my rice as I reheated the rice
