Protein powder: The chocolate protein powder is optional, but it helps bump up the protein and also adds extra chocolate flavour. If leaving it out, you may want to add a little more cocoa powder to taste. I use a fairly rich, dark cocoa powder, so I’d start with an extra 1-2g rather than adding too much at once. You may also want a little extra sweetener to balance the bitterness.
Milk: I used unsweetened almond milk to keep the calories down, but any milk will work. Different milks may slightly change the consistency and nutrition.
Sweetness: Adjust the sweetener to taste depending on how sweet your protein powder and hot chocolate powder are.
Peanut butter: Smooth peanut butter works best for creating an even layer. Warm it for a few seconds if it’s too thick to spread easily.
Caramel: Any caramel sauce will work. You can add a little extra if you want a stronger caramel flavour, but the nutrition will vary.
Peanuts: Add the salted peanuts just before serving so they keep their crunch.
