Heat a frying pan over a medium to low heat and lightly spray with oil. Add the sliced onion with the sugar (if using) and a pinch of salt. Cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring regularly, until soft, golden and caramelised. If the onions start to catch, add a splash of water and continue cooking.

Delicious. I meal prepped all of the ingredients at the weekend then just assembled & cooked. Hubby saw it on TikTok & said about it, told him was already planning to do it. Definitely doing again!
